What year and model trailer do you have? They're all different

That model has 3 valves and 3 tanks. The gray and black are side by side. The galley tank valve is at the rear of the trailer just behind the slideout on the frame rail like the other two valves. They might not of put the door in the skirting but you can reach up and pull the drain valve handle behind the skirting. It'll drain out at the same outlet as the other two tanks.

In the pic, if you look at the bottom left, you can see the access door and the label for the galley tank valve. I've heard of the access doors being off some or not even installed.

Thanks so much, earl. You are my (and my wife's) hero. No door as shown in picture, but hidden in the frame under slide on driver's side is a black handle, which, when pulled drained the galley tank. Dealer never showed us this, owner's book didn't have it and it is now solved. The full moon coming up over the mountains at 8500 feet elevation now looks so much better. Blessings,
Richard

I can't believe Forest River failed to put the access door for the galley drain valve on your unit. One of the many issues we had with our Wildcat when it was new was that the labels for the Black and Grey were reversed. It took a couple of outings to figure that one out.

It doesn't surprise me one bit, considering all the posts telling about things left unscrewed, unglued, unfinished, etc., etc.

Plus...there's got to be one RV each week that rolls off the line at 5:00 P.M. Friday.
Quality control slips cuz everybody wants to hit the bars early.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my CAT. BUT, FR's quality control leaves something to be desired at times.

My pull valve for the galley is installed along the bottom of the trailer, with no door for access. Maybe its a west coast thing, they put the pull valves underneath and not behind any doors...

We have the east coast model and there is no access door for the galley drain. Just have to reach under and pull the valve.

Did they quit putting the handles for the drain valves through the frame rail? On our old 2004 RK the handles were under the frame and I had to reach under the trailer to pull them. On our 2008 RKBS the handle comes through and is attached to the frame rail and there is an access door to get to them. Here's a photo of the galley drain valve.

Our 2009 RKBS has the handle for the galley tank under the frame - no door. Doesn't seem to be much consistancy in the way FR does things.

Our's is a 2009 28RKBS and has the galley drain in the rear an also has the acess door just like Richard Mondavi I don't understand why they don't build them all the same.

I'm just glad that saddlenow was able to solve their problem on the go.

We're just like the old commercials Tom Bodet "spell" did for
motel 8.

We'll leave the light on, cause theres someone always here ready to lend a hand or the right info.

Thanks for fielding that MoparEarl.

Ah yes, went through the same thing myself. I discovered mine by accident while searching for the fresh water drain. Same store and same stories as above, so I won't say anymore. Good to see more people out there. Maybe FR should read this and maybe smack their PDI guys at dealerships! Sheesh!

Well, I emailed the dealer in Co Springs, and he said he showed it to us at a show attended by 5000 Coloradans, and he said his service people showed it to us when we took it in due to drainage problems...however, his service people had left for the day when we picked it up, so here's another dealer who is only slightly in short term memory loss.
FR's brocure fails to state the size of the "galley" and only describes the gray water capacity as 100 gal. for the 28RKBS http://www.forestriverinc.com/nd/default22.asp?page=specs&nav=rec&choice=wild
They can hardly inform a dealer when they don't know or publish their own specs.
Thanks to the great forum...we learned in a timely way. You are great.
Blessings, Richard
