Where can I get one of these?

Post by ScottandGrace on 5/22/2010, 4:41 pm

I broke the ears off one of my wheel hub covers (the black thing you take off to use the EZ lubes) and I'm having a hard time finding another. Anybody know where I can get another one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I did see them on ebay before but none listed as of now. Here are some I found. Black plugs are harder to find. Seeing the pricing, it might be worth wild installing new center caps. I need to do this, mine are rusting and I want to upgrade to stainless steel ones. A RV dealer may have them or can get them or the factory.

Most trailer sales and supply businesses will carry them. If you don't find any in your area let me know and I'll pick up some from the place I buy my cargo trailers from and mail to you.

Thank you gentlemen!
Earl's first link looks like the ticket but I sure appreciate the offer Keith.

Thanks again,

Scott

EDIT; CtoC wants $28 to ship a $3 purchase I guess I have a look at the local trailer supply place.

axle caps

Post by slowtruck on 5/23/2010, 11:28 am

I changed my rusty caps to a cap called Versa Cap. It is a plastic cap that twist into place and looks nice. Camping world sells these, and I found mine on the internet.

You might want to try Kyle Hilliard at Forest River. I think he can get you replacement caps. His email is khilliard@forestriverinc.com . Phone: 574-206-7615. He just ordered a set of replacement steps for my 2009 29rlbs Wildact. The cost is alittle less than I could have done on the net. Hope this helps.

Jim, I think I have used both but am not sure. I changed the inc in my other message. Why would you know the contact for the East when you live in Oregon? I am glad you did. The contact works great. I should have my steps Monday or Tuesday. Like I said the price is as good as anywhere and hopefully they will be the exact replacement part. We visited Oregon last year. The Oregon coast was really nice. We had a great time although I am sure we missed some great places to visit. Thanks Duke.

Duke

I had to order some vinyl flooring for the cat and the west coast no longer carried it. They put me in touch with Kyle, seems the east coast warehouse is the one that carries everything.

My only intention was to provide a correct address, not to correct you.

Hope you had a great time in Oregon lots to see here. We would love to get back to the east coast, so much history to see. Maybe after we retire.

Hi Tim, Did you mean Versa Lok? They look good but how do they attach? Do I have to take the lugs off to install?

Jim no problem with the internet correction. I got my steps today. Going to try and get them installed tomorrow. I really appreciate the info. It's really nice to know we can order directly from Forest River and I do believe the price is reasonable.
Don't rush retirement! Retirement is great except for the fact we are getting older.. Enjoy all you can as the journey goes and thank GOD for all you have! Duke

Hi Scott, the center hub covers and lug nut covers have to be removed, once this is done and lug nuts are tightened, center the Versa-lok cap in place and twist it onto the lug nuts to lock in place. Easy to install and remove for servicing wheel. I put a chrome ring on also to dress up the factory wheels. Will send a picture as soon as I get time. P.S. They make them in 5,6 or 8 bolt caps

I ended up calling C2C directly and they shipped me two caps for $12 including shipping.
Thanks for the info though Tim ~ I just cheaped out in the end.
