slide lubrication

Post by maxum1989 on 5/10/2010, 3:45 pm

Where exactly is everyone spraying when you lubricate the slide mechanism? Are you doing just the 2" tubes that are visible or more? Do you spray the hydraulic arm that comes out as well? How about the gears that are visible? My slide does not slide as well as it used to so I am wondering if I am missing a lubricating location. Thank you.

I do not spray the Hydraulic Ram. It has a dirt wiper that wipes the grit of the Ram. I spray the gears and the 2" tubes with Spray I got from the dealer. I will check the name tomorrow. I also spray the slide seals with a slide seal lub.

I am using this on the gears and the tubes (not on the ram): http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/slide-out-lube-spray/21225

Lipperts web site has more info in PDF form that one could ever need. Here is a link to the slide manual, in PDF format: Owners Manual

I spray the toothed gear and put a coat on top of the tube and sides and bottom. I use the white lithium spray.

Thanks for the Owners Manual. On page four it says no lubrication is necessary.
