Re: Around the USA..
We met up with Oldelmer1 and the wife yesterday at Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The are very nice people. We will be here at the Louisville South KOA for one more night then off to Columbia Kentucky.
Thanks for all the well wishes, we will try to keep sending information, but many of our campgrounds do not have wifi, or it is to weak to get a good connection. Here it is great. Today will be a full day, checking out Louisville. We Kalifornians are having a tuff time adjusting to this "humidity thing". I am glad we have a 10 gallon hot water heater, because we are going to be taking lots of showers. In Redding we don't have humidity, unless it is raining.
Well, I hear the wife saying breakfast is on..
Life is good.
Retirement is great.
Happy camping..

Phillip,
I resemble that remark. I was stationed at Orlando AFB from July 1965 to October 1967. From May until September you could set your watch by the thunderstorms in the afternoon. (4:30 - 5:00 PM). We had to hang bags of desicant in our wall lockers to keep the mold at bay and even then it would attack our boots and shoes and turn them green. Oh yeah, no air conditioning in enlisted barracks.
Even the winters were hard down there. December to February always felt colder because of the dampness.

I lived in Ft Lauderdale for a couple of years. I remember driving back home for christmas in shorts, but when I got to the Ga Line it was like , what the Heck was I thinking ? The heater in my truck wasn't working but it was about 80 deg when I left south fl.

Re: Around the USA..
You certainly have a good trip planned. I went from Florida to CT thru NY a couple years again. I am not sure I would want to make that trip again. I don't know what your route is, but the tolls up there were a killer. I took I-95 all the way. I would pull into the toll booth and the sign said maybe $5 and then they looked out the window and saw I was pulling a 5th wheel and would say, "That will be $17." Happy Motoring.

Re: Around the USA..
Yes,,, we are having a blast... We left kentucky today, and are in Ohio now. It looks neat seeing our two RV's going down the road,,, both Ford 06 F350's and both 29rlbs 5th wheels. This campground in Lebanon Ohio, has about everything you want encluding an ice cream booth, of which we all enjoyed very much. Beautiful scenery throughout Kentucky and Ohio. We need to stay in one site for a couple of days to upload pictures. It seems after a days driving and fun at the camp sight, plus site seeing,, night comes quickly. We have been averaging about 250-300 miles per day. Tomorrow we go to Streetsboro Ohio, where Oldelmer1 has some friends they want to see.. Then off to NY. and Maine. We will probably stay a couple of days at the falls in NY.
I promise pictures later,,, just to busy having fun. We do have some pictures of the four of us at the Jim Beam Manufacturing plant in Kentucky. Just got off the phone with Tom,,, and he is going to upload the picture of the four of us.
I hope all of you get to take a around the USA trip, it is great to see all these nice places. The General Patton museum was great.

Okay, I am extremely jealous! The best we're getting right now is our local municipal park. Well, we're saving up for my implants, so a little sacrifice will be worth it.
Keep posting about your trip - we enjoy reading about it.

Re: Around the USA..
Yes, they offered samples... Unfortunately, I am a Coke drinker, and wife likes coffee. But it was interesting to see, and yes Tom and Sharon enjoyed a sip or two. We will be leaving tomorrow for Niagra Falls. It has been raining here in Ohio, and forecast for rain up to NY. So, we will deal with it and enjoy the rain. Both our camp sites are long pull throughs, at the back of the campground, where we do not have wifi service. I am typing up at the office where wifi is strong. In Canton Ohio they have the football hall of fame, and about 31 miles from our camp site is the Rock and Roll hall of fame. They will be interesting to see. Thanks again for all the well wishes.
Well,,, I better take Luke out for his walk.
Maxtor.

Re: Around the USA..
Luke likes to travel, but when we will be gone for more than a hour or two, he stays in the WC. Today we visited Niagra Falls, and had a great Steak dinner, so he stayed in the WC and had hamburger and chicken. He is not happy being left behind, but we feel that it is in his best interest. He would disagree. We do not leave him alone for more than four hours at a time. Potty breaks are a must. He has the run of the WC, and sleeps on the couch while we are gone.Last edited by Maxtor on 5/19/2010, 3:31 pm; edited 1 time in total

Re: Around the USA..
Tomorrow we head to 1000 Islands camp ground in Alexandra, on the way to Bangor Maine. Here are a couple of the "many" pictures we took today. Also Oldelmer1's rig next to ours. They are very nice people and we feel very lucky to have met them and we are enjoying each day. We have had many laughs and expect many more before this trip ends.
