Pantry Door Latch

Post by Taquilatab on 4/6/2010, 9:52 am

We have a pantry door that just will not stay latched. It comes open from traveling down the road and if we aren't careful it will catch the slideout when extending it. Believe it or not, I did this last year and the door didn't break but the steel rod pushing out the slideout bent out of shape which forced me to manually retract the slide so I could take it to the dealer for repairs. So, does anybody have a good source for some sort of latch I can install that will keep the pantry door from opening on me? Thanks.

I have the EXACT same issue in my 32QBBS!! I haven't fixed it yet, but I plan on installing something similar to what you are looking for!!

My thoughts were to go to Home Depot or Lowes and find some kind of cabinet latch. I haven't given it too much thought though.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help, but I will be staying tuned for any other comments!

Magnetic latches have a very strong pull. That would probably work. Any hardware store will have them.

I too used the child safety doohickey around the handles.
