Propane Alarm

Looking for a battery operated propane alarm to replace the 12 volt Wildcat alarm. Like to find a 9 volt type anyone know of such an animal

I thought walmart had them ?

I know of several of them, but they all run on 12VDC; designed for engine rooms. I don't think the batteries would last long enough.

I thought the smell from propane was alarm enough to let you know you had a leak.

The propane sensor must eat up a lot of juice to quick for regular batteries, I searched every which way I could, and only came up with ones for 12v and AA battery back up types.

what makes you want one that runs on small batteries instead of your big 12v battery ?

Admin, I thought we could dry camp longer, seems like that thing pulls a lot on my batteries. How many have put a switch on the alarm. I put one on the concertone.

I pull the fuses out for both the sniffer & the consertone when the camper sits in the driveway.

I dry camp all the time, I don't think the propane detector pulls too much power.
