Modified Entertainment Center

Post by Guest on 3/30/2010, 3:17 pm

I recently remodeled the entertainment center to accommodate our TV. My question is, what can I expect to find below in the area between the propane alarm and outlet? I would like to put some shelving /drawer/storage in that area. Does anyone know what, if anything, I can expect to find in there? I just don't want to start removing walls unnecessarily.
Thanks
Robert

Good Mod!! Likes very professional and I think it is a better design than the factory set-up.

I have pulled my alarm / sensor off to disconnect it and it seems like it was just hollow back there.

In mine, I believe it is the front storage area.

In our 24RL 2007 model, which is west coast made, has the hot water heater located there. I did a mod for the tv cab with a pull out pantry.

In our 29RLBS, these is about 4 inches of dead space, then the wall into the basement.

Thanks to all!
oldelmer1, I think you hit the nail on the head! Yep, at the step wall where the vent comes up below leaves about 4-6 inches to the front of the entertainment center. I might put a sliding door over that area later for dvd storage. As for now I think I'll leave it alone.

We were wondering the same thing. We thought that space might make a good storage area for soda pop. We wouldn't have to store very much, as we drink mostly bottled water. Bottled water, by the way, goes in the under stair storage area.

The "dead" space under the TV area will now become the new location for a subwoofer for our new stereo system.

Our factory sub died last year and I decided to replace the whole system with a regular home theater system. It is not 12 volt but I have an inverter to power the system when necessary. The new sound is 10 times better and the "new" space will be perfect for the subwoofer.

Always adding to THE list!!

Wine would work...Boxed wine would fit, but it would be hard to chill.

Stores around here have 6-pack wine carriers. Make up our own 6-pack and get a 10% discount. We use one of those carriers in the trailer. It travels alongside the sofa, out of the way. We used to have a wine rack above the microwave, but took it down while we traveled.

If all we can get is about 4 inches of depth, we probably will just leave it as is.
