Identify this photo

Post by scottz on 3/27/2010, 8:20 am

Let's try something fun. Everyone is going to be heading out camping soon, I thought we could post photos and have people guess where they are. Here's the ground rules (this is a work in progress, so expect changes):

1. I'll post one photo (or multiple photos of one location) at a time. After it is identified, we can start over with a new one. I'll start us off with this one; after it is identified someone else can post another photo.

2. The photo must have a unique characteristic so it can be identified. A photos of a camp site in the pines is nice, but it has to have something unique to identify it from all the other camp site photos.

3. Once a photo is identified, we will start again.

In 1956, Devils Tower National Monument celebrated its 50th birthday. A Park Service historian used that occasion to record a history of Devils Tower. A big event occured in 1941 when a parachutist landed safely on top of the Tower. Getting off the Tower was the problem.

Well, we know its a ferry. Washington State is the only ones I've been on, so I'm stumped.

Somebody get something else ready, but wait till someone figures out Franks photo.

Scott,

Great idea to get our minds working. I'll have to see what kind of pics I have from some of our trips.

Thanks for the fun.

I'd say you are doing ok. Probably a clue per day. Maybe if no one gets it after 5 days, you give it up.

Is it Virginia? Thought possibly Kentucky, but your states visited map doesn't include Kentucky. I noticed that you have this clue in one of your posts - htiw in etats ew dah detisiv

I've never been out east, so had to use Google for some help. I'm going to guess Scotland-Jamestown Ferry.
