Concertone Replacement suggestions

Post by Lograf on 3/21/2010, 4:59 pm

First topic message reminder :

From what I see I'm not the only one with Concertone issues. Mine won't play a DVD or CD anymore. It's the ZX500. Looking for suggestions as to what everyone is replacing them with. Are there still Concertones out there anymore? I never really used it for TV but it was nice for the kids to watch DVD's if we were stuck inside.

Thanks, Lograf

The following comes from the link above:

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. Select the Service / Repair Program and follow the instructions for purchasing. You will be charged for the Service / Repair Program PLUS $150 or $100 deposit (depending on the Service Program you select) for your old unit (Core Charge).
2. You will receive your NEW unit within 7 Business Days.
3. Remove the old unit from your RV and replace with NEW Unit.
4. Package old unit in box provided with NEW unit.
5. Ship the old unit back to us following the shipping instructions within 30 days.
6. CONCERTONE® will refund your Core Charge by check within thirty (30) days of receipt and verification of your old unit.
7. ENJOY!

Sound good? Here's how to get started...

Select one of the two options below:
Option 1: Service Plan - CONCERTONE® Chassis Size A - This option will provide a NEW ZX690 to replace or upgrade your chassis "A" size equipment (Mounting hole size in inches (W x H) 6.75 x 9.5 - please visit product gallery to understand what equipment you have).

Clicking on the Add to Cart button which follows the above text takes you to:

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=_0et1s6SR-22ghFIrvKCY8hmHXpxYlj6IJe7RzkIemvvX6mWRxCsasy269a&dispatch=50a222a57771920b6a3d7b606239e4d529b525e0b7e69bf0224adecfb0124e9b61f737ba21b081985230a0d2e1cd989dfdb476d0cbcd3a80

The contnet there is:

Your Shopping Cart Description Price Quantity Amount
Service Plan - Concertone Chassis Size A
Item # 0001
399.95 quantity|

$399.95
Item total:$399.95

I have followed this link provided above: http://concertone.com/spa.html and I see the pricing there is different but how does one find that page (other than the direct link pasted here)? I do not see a a path to get there.

Glen,

The link I posted is on the page you copied here. Just go back to real page and click on the "Option 1: Service Plan - CONCERTONE® Chassis Size A". It is a link. I highlighted the location in your post.

Also, the paypal links you all have been posting are secure links so they expire after you close your browser session.

Somebody has or had extra Concertones for sale in the classified section. You should check it out if you want to go that route.

We've had our Concertone replaced four times with no long-term luck. The fifth time will be a more reliable unit.

OK, I see that. Thanks jetskier. Anybody should be able to click on the Add to Cart Link; that is what takes you to the PayPal page.

Concertone has two links on the same page (less than one inch apart) to two different sets of information about pricing. Really weak. Certainly does not build my confidence level.

WHERE. FOLLOW MY LINK AND SHOW ME. ANOTHER PERSON HAS SEEN THE SAME THING ALREADY. In the check out cart is says Service Plan 399.00. It is confusing. What the check out cart should say to be correct is Service Plan x amount of dollars and refundable core is x amount of dollars and it does not say that. Appears to be saying one thing on one page and another on the check out cart. Until it is fixed I would stay far away from any purchase. I have been bit by things like this before.

I don't disagree with you. If I were to do it, I'd want to see the $150 listed as a core charge separate from the $249. It'd be nice if they offered other options rather than just Paypal. I.e. credit card.

Ok guys, the math is simple but if you think I am going to screw you I guess it does not matter what it says. This is the first time I have heard of this concern from the many people who have taken advantage of this service.

That said, we use PalPal because not only are they the number 1 Internet Credit Card Processing Company, but because they also allow you to use a credit card WITHOUT creating a PayPal account. Please read the entire screen and select the correct option.

With these very clear instructions do really really think that PayPal would not agree with you if needed? Which they are not... AwwMan

Hey Bob,

How about that built-in digital ATSC tuner? Any word from your team on offering this option? I'd consider the upgrade if you did.

Character is not an issue here . What is is common sense. Something I have learned real well after many years in the military. We need to get beyond the Concertone web page and look at the Paypal receipt. Concertons page is very clear. The receipt I would receive from Paypal is not. In the name of good customer relationship it needs to be broken down as to what you are being charged. By not doing that, with all the problems Concertone is having, it becomes untouchable by a lot of people regardless of how many have decided to go down this avenue of possible no return. Your web site is a printed page that can change at anytime. The receipt is a legal document that is your only proof of what you purchased. All I would purchase is a Service Contract with "NO" core refund. Also we have to realize that it is just not one person that finds this way of doing things a little weak.

Clearly I disagree and the volume we are doing certainly does not mean everyone else is dumb. As I said, you guys were the first to mention or make an issue of it.

Concertone is not having any more issues than any other company so I don't see where that comes from. We can Google any other RV system or entertainment brand and find customer issues (both real and not).

So in the end, clarity is important whether I see it the first time or not - which is why I said I would revisit (look at) again...

Bob - May I make a suggestion. Every sight I purchase from, except from concertone, produces an itemized receipt with a total and all instructions on it before sending you to paypal for a receipt with a total amount only. You get a receipt that is itemized from the company you are buying the product from and you get a receipt with a total payed from paypal. Just a thought to share.

When you do through the PayPal process it clearly lists the products, prices, shipping and taxes (CA)...

Re: Concertone Replacement suggestions

Post by Bob Fields on 3/25/2011, 8:09 am

Dan, I have no need to be involved here if I am interested in fleecing people. It would be easier and less time consuming to let you guys have your say than it is to continue to provide opportunities for the thread to continue by engaging you in dialog.

I thought my participation provided opportunities for "COMMUNICATION".

I often hear of the frustration people have on this and other forums regarding the lack of manufacturer participation. I, unlike most every other manufacturer have tried to step into your world (not mine) and be there to "represent". In fact, I would bet there are no other manufacturers participating at any significant level. If they are here, and I believe they are, they have chosen to "lurk". In retrospect that may not be a bad strategy.

Because we may not agree or have the same opinion I don't believe that makes me dishonest! Nor do I believe that my passion is any less important than the passion others (like yourself) may have.

Back to the Thread - I had already said on this thread that I would review this situation, but I did not commit to the "when" I would do that so maybe that is part of the issue here.

The other part may be that I don't write a book every time I write so maybe the shortness of my previous response contributed to this. If so I apologize!

I hope we can agree to disagree at times and as two old military guys, I am sure a lot of our time talking with our "brothers" was spent "arguing" about something.
