Post by ff185 on 3/20/2010, 7:01 am

first i need a new hot water element and it seems the back corner top of big slide is leaking will look at it better it seemed ok but must have a wear spot rubbed through. i also could not get the tv antennae to pic up channels except for in the front bunk connection the back bedroom and 2 coax by the RCAs didnt work. replaced concertone with a jensen unit, but shouldnt matter if those to coaxs come straight from ant. anyone have any wiring diagrams for that? any other tips thanks.Rest of trip was good just these minor hiccups

Not sure if i can help or not but here are a couple of thoughts. If you have skylights in your slide, the tape they use to seal around the edge of them will start to let loose over time. I simply replaced it with some rolled rubber roof tape and have had no further problems. As far as the TV, did you power up the antenna amplifier ?

Make sure you power up the antenna, that little green light should be on, ours is located in the front bedroom. I also had to replace the coax connections ( ours were twist type ) because of poor connections.

The back corner of our slide was leaking when we got our Cat. Not much but did cause a little bubble on the outside. Probably sticks out 1/4" and is almost square. About 6". I recaulked all the possible areas above and it hasn't leaked anymore.
I was told I should replace the caulking every couple of years and will this year.
As far as the antenna, I added this $40.00 piece to help with HD reception. We do not get all but it did help a bit. With the power booster turned off, we get almost nothing. That would be the first thing to check. Our boost button is located in our bedroom connection.

The recept of our TV was terrible too. I did a little troubleshooting and found FR had stripped the coax down to the center conductor and just screwed the connector onto it. They didn't expose the shield at all so it wasn't connected. I reworked all the connectors and it worked fine after that.
Somebody at the factory had no idea what they were doing.

Here is a link to the diagrams for my 08. When I got mine the splitters where installed backwards. One was behind the stove and one in the wall above the concertone. I have the extra bath so my concertone is beside the steps going up to the bunks in the front. Several of my connections had not been crimped correctly. I would check them all.
