first trip of 2010

DW and I are getting ready to head to Branson March 27 - April 3 . We will be staying at the wilderness cg which is at Silver Dollar City . It has been years since we have been there , so if anyone has any must see things there let me know. Thanks Jim

I don't know if I would classify this as a "must see", but Branson Landing located on the shore of Taneycomo Lake is worth going to. It is an outdoor mall with a number of good restaurants that have outdoor seating overlooking the lake. There is also a fountain at Branson Landing that was designed by the same man who designed the fountain at the Bellagio resort in Vegas. Every hour on the hour the fountain at the Landing puts on a fire and water show set to music, definitely worth seeing. BTW, a Bass Pro Shop is one of the anchors of the mall.

Right next to the mall's south parking lot is the Branson Lakeside RV park. You might want to drive through that park for future reference.

When in Branson check out Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, part of Bass Pro. The Canyon is located south and west of Branson, 28 miles, just a neat area. http://www.dogwoodcanyon.com/Page/Walking.html

First trip memorial weekend for 5 days to Fishermans grove sp near Redfield SD
Second trip 4th of July weekend for 5 days to Mahoney State Park near Ashland Ne
and I will throw in some weekends with the fishing pole between work permitting

I know you will have a great time, but your killin me. DW and I are so ready to go it ain't funny. We would like to head down that way late summer looking forward to hearing how it was.

twas the night before the trip to Branson all the plans have been made . All we like is the last minute details . With a good nights sleep we hit the road in the morning . Happy camping here we come. Jim

made it to the campground , its ok but less than expected . The sites are gravel , small , tight . You can here Silver Dollar City from the campground. rained after we set up. But , a bad day of camping is better than no camping at all . Jim
