Bathroom Sink

Has anyone ever toyed with the idea of replacing the bathroom sink? It is so dinky and small I am always hitting my head on the medicine cabinet. I try to be careful. Besides the DW is always fussing about the faucet being to close to the sink, (I know I can replace the faucet) the only way she can clean between the sink and faucet is with a Q-tip, Any ideas?

I saw a picture of a bathroom sink mod - new sink, counter and faucet. It looked nice. Can't remember if it was a Wildcat or some other make.

This is the bathroom sink mod that I found. It might give you some ideas. I don't know if this was done to a Wildcat, a Forest River product, or some other manufacturer. And I don't have any details about where the sink came from. I like that the sink and counter are all one piece - that would make cleaning much easier. And the molded in soap dishes would be great! If I got something like this, I think I'd see if I could get one to fit all the way to the shower's glass wall. It would make the counter a couple inches bigger, and stuff wouldn't fall down in that space between the cabinet and shower.

Don't you just Love that little space between the cabinet and shower. Own our's seems like something or trash is always finding its way in there. I guess it's not the end of the world. Jim

I think that the mod would be pretty easy to do. Lowes has a great selection of bathroom sink tops, as well as a full range of custom designs if they didn't have an off the shelf model that would fit.

If I did this mod (and I think I will) I'm going to be very careful not to let the new sink top touch the glass shower wall. Too much chance of vibration causing a crack. But that being said, it would be nice to have another inch or inch and a half of room.

Gonna measure and then head to Lowes.

That looks like my picture from when I had an Outback TT.

I did the faucet mod in our Outback. It had the one piece plastic bathroom sink. I'm all but positive that is my sink, since I used the square flange under the new faucet when I installed it....

I don't know whose picture it is, but since it looks familiar to you, I'm sure it's yours. I don't remember ever being on Outbackers.com though. Maybe somebody put a link in a message on one of the forums I use that led to your photo. Your Outback came with the one-piece sink? I guess I saved the photo because of the faucet.

I may have posted that here when we were discussing replacing the faucet......

The Outback did come with the 1 piece sink. It was a very lightweight, thin plastic though. Not like a solid surface Corian or anything. You could melt it with a curling iron if not careful....

I would love to find a sink like that to change out the plastic one. I don't know how many times I have hit my head on the cabent.

Believe it or not, the bowl in that sink is probably smaller than the one in the 'Cat....

It looks bigger, but the whole sink was probably only 14-16 inches wide. See how the electric outlet looks big? The bowl makes the bathroom faucet look like a big kitchen faucet!!
