Dr. Edmund A Babler State Park near St. Louis MO???
I have a wedding to attend labor day weekend in St. Louis MO and am considering hauling the wildcat up there instead of getting a hotel room in the city. This campground seems nice but I don't know how bad the drive would be into the city. Anyone on here ever stay at this campground or is from the area and can give some advice? I am open to suggestions of other near by places.

If you plan to stay at Babler State Park be sure to log onto the MO state park website and make reservations as early as you can. I believe you can’t make reservations any sooner that 6 months in advance. Don’t count on getting any of the first-come first-served sites on Labor Day weekend because Babler is in St. Louis County and a very popular park with the locals. It’s a beautiful piece of green space in St. Louis County.
If the wedding is in the City of St. Louis proper and you can‘t get reservations at Babler, your best bet would be to stay at the Casino Queen RV park just across the Mississippi river in East St. Louis, IL. That would be close and convenient to the city.
Sundemier RV park in St. Charles, MO would be a good place to stay also. It’s a very clean RV park but IMHO very pricey for the few amenities they offer.
There is also the St. Louis RV park located right in the heart of St. Louis on the edge of the downtown area. It was a vacant parking lot for years until it was converted into an RV park. The only nice thing I can say about this park is that it has a pool.

Thanks for the info. I will be booking in the next week as I don't want to drive 12 hours only relying on a chance of a first come spot. How long do you think it would take to get to Forrest Park from Babler?

From Babler to Forest Park it's about 25 miles and it will take about 35 minutes to drive there from Babler. You'll want to leave Babler and head north to Interstate 64/Hwy40. Is someone getting married at the Jewel Box?

My cousin is getting married there at the end of the summer. My other option is a hotel room at the Hotel Indigo that has been blocked for the wedding. I would prefer to use the 5th wheel and be in the country than have to stay in the city and it should save use several hundred dollars in hotel fees.

I would add a note about St. Louis RV Park. True, it is older and is a paved parking lot. It is urban, ie no views, grass or trees, but it is clean, well managed, fenced and across the street form the Police Station. Its location is the draw. You can't beat it if you need to be in St Louis.
