You folks in the snow are lucky.

Post by Maxtor on 2/16/2010, 9:37 am

Yesterday... I had to mow the lawn.
Today... Washed two cars.
Tomorrow.... apply round up to fast growing weeds.

Be glad you are snow bound and not needing to do spring activities.

You can't beat Middle Ga, we got a good thick coating and made it look all nice and pretty, and it was gone by noon the next day. Now the grass is looking like it needs a little cutting also.

I just wish the rain would stop for a little while before the ground becomes complete mush and all the tree's fall over.

Thinking about turning on the AC. It's 81 here in Lake Havasu City Arizona, 32 in Anchorage. Talked to a friend there yesterday, he told me about a guy we know who now lives in Virginia who took a trip back to Anchorage to get out of the snow.

These pictures I took yesterday, and had my "son" Luke who supervised the job. Yes I will trade you.. We do not get snow here, and it would be nice once and a while. In the background of the second picture you can see Mt. Shasta covered in that white stuff. It is 85 miles north of us.

Photos with green grass taken this time of year are just cruel.

ok, you're killing me here. I just spent the last two days without power because of the weather. We lost power on Thursday night around 10:00 and just got it back tonight at 6:30. I will take that stinking green stuff anytime :) At least this time I was prepared. We bought a generator and transfer switch to run most of the power in the house. COME ON SPRING!!!!!

I have been watching on the news about the weather you guys are dealing with. WOW...

I can not imagine how bad things are out your way. Six years ago we had 1/4 inch of snow that lasted all day. That was the last snow we had. I agree with you, all the snow, wind and rain you have been receiving is not good. Power lines, trees, etc. all that devastation....What I would like to see is a couple inches of snow that would last a day or two out here. In the last 38 years, I can not remember a "snowstorm" that was over one inch or lasted over a day.

Just remember, in July when it is 118 degrees here, you will be enjoying much cooler and nicer weather. I know we do not have humidity out here, but hot is hot.

I plow snow for a living in winter. Am very tired of this. Would love to start lawncare, fertilizing and weed control. Spring clean up her starts about the middle of April. We still have snowstorms here in April.
We are now able to use our hot tub outside as the temps are now over 20 degrees. That's the only excitment here.
We wash vechicles too. Inside my shop with the heat on.
Only flurries today and maybe 37* today. Haven't hit 40 since early December.
Not sure why we live here. Maybe someday,

I read a article the other week about a town in ND giving away free land lot with some cash toward a house, and even more if you open a business. I was thinking they didn't have enough cash in the bank to make me even want to think about that idea and having to live there to .... no way.
I'll take my middle georgia weather anytime.

I see that you are from Wisconsin. I went to the grocery store the other day and there were about six line trucks at the back of the parking lot from Wisconsin. they crews were all getting some sleep. I can't express enough the gratitude we have here for all the work that was put in to get power back here in NH. I even saw crews from Pennsylvania and Michigan.

We are finally getting some spring weather here. Going to be in the 50's all week. March has been nice here so far. Snow is about gone. Could easily get more though. Soon we'll have to put this post to rest. Probably reopen it though in November

Almost. The original owner owned it for six months, then traded it in for next years model. We are the second owners. It sits in the garage, because my wife has knee problems and it is to low for her. I only drive it when the wife is not going with me. I think the 300ZXT cars are great. 30 mpg and corners and brakes like a slot car. With the turbo, it has no problem passing cars. Traveling in the mountains is where they shine. When my wife had better knees, we loved to drive it to the coast. I don't think I have driven it over 50 miles in the last two years. Six cars and only two people make for low mileage.
