Why are you drilling? I mounted mine using screws and Dicor. Run the wiring down the refrigerator vent. See my sig for photos.

I don't remember, probably 3/4". Even if the plywood is only 3/4", there is a couple inches of insulation before you would hit an interior parts. Check out the screws they use to hold your vents in place. Make sure you have a couple tubes of Dicor; follow the instructions; goop it up under the brackets and then cover it after you have screwed it down.

I called FR on this. I was told it is 3/8 and they recommended I try to hit a crossbeam for at least one end of my panel. The crossbeams are on 16" centers, 1 1/2 wide. They suggested using 1 1/2 screws. The wires run along the inside ceiling and they are several inches below the roof so the screw will penetrate into the roof, beam if you hit it, then insulation.

I used a tape and found the trusses. You can use a roof vent to locate them quickly and pull the trim out to expose them from below. They are on a 16"o.c. spacing.

How would you suggest to run the wire if you don't have a refrigerator vent on the roof, ours in in the slide out. Do you think it would hurt to run the wire down along side a vent pipe. This would be very easy to do at the bath vent.

The 30LSBS doesn't really have too many option for interior walls. Pull one of the roof vents and see if you access a nearby interior wall in the pantry or toilet-maybe even explore the shower skylight. In the pantry you can drill diagonally in a hidden upper corner to pass the wires from the roof cavity into the wall cavity. I was able to get my drill in the vent opening and drill a hole into the wall from the top. It was tricky, but I did it without using the refr vent. The same wall in my model has the converter at the bottom. I put the charge controller there too in between the two.

That is how I did it. It went right down in the wall. I was able to access it below in the cabin by removing the stereo then it was a simple one foot push into the storage compartment. cheers
