Did I Mention?
I guess I forgot to mention that we are getting snow in the D/FW area. Don't know any official measurements, but here is a picture:

Re: Did I Mention?
When we lived in Chicago, we were in that club. Don't want to join it again. We'll just keep our little snows now and then. Freezing rain is more common around here. We'd rather have snow - but not 24+ inches at a time.
Glad your neighbor was kind enough to clear your driveway. How are your roads? We'll just let our driveway melt. It won't take long once the snow stops. I think it's supposed to get in the mid 50's in a day or so.

Re: Did I Mention?
Our road is closed, they stopped plowing yesterday afternoon around 4. 2 trucks have tried to get thru and they both are stuck. At each end of our road, the fields are about 4 - 5 feet higher than the road, so, its 1 big snow drift.
We might get out by Saturday or Sunday, maybe!!!
Oh, and I dont want to be in the CLUB anymore either.

The snow's too deep to even attempt a snow person.

7 inches and counting here in Dallas. Tom, Scruffy hopes you have a good supply of food.

Snow Man - Snow Woman is done now too, but it's getting too dark to take pictures.

Re: Did I Mention?
Another thing I think I forgot to mention. Our sat dish is full of snow, we can't watch TV. We have a small (13inch) TV in one of the guest rooms that is connected to a digital converter. We can get all of our local channels, but we seldom watch local TV. At least we can get weather reports.

Re: Did I Mention?
It's odd that those of us who are supposed to have lots of snow don't, and those who shouldn't have that much do. We have only 5 inches on the ground, a far cry from last season.

Re: Did I Mention?
Scruffy have to out side and clean the snow off the dish and should be able to get the reception. They also have a cover for the dish that you can purchase to keep the snow off sat dish.

Re: Did I Mention?
He tried that, Ken. He taped our two longest poles together, and they got close, but not close enough. Our dish is attached to the chimney, and even though we have just one story, we have a high roof. We'll have to look into that cover. Thanks.

Re: Did I Mention?
Get scruffy to get his paint ball gun out and shoot the dish. I'm sure he's confiscated one or two ?

Re: Did I Mention?
We had 7" here in Ashdown (Texarkana). Lost power around 1 am and I got up at 3 to get the cat ready to move into. Had to jump-start the generator, but by 5, I had warm water and heat!!! They got the power back on around 8:30, so all my effort was wasted.

I hate to brag, but the snow melted a couple weeks back and it's 55° for a high here. Did I mention clear blue skies?

I grill when I want to grill!
Weather has nothing to do with it.
My wife thinks I'm crazy for standing out in 25 degrees with 8" of snow over a charcoal/wood fired grill.
She doesn't think its too crazy when she's eating those thick cut ribeys covered with sauteed onions and mushrooms though...
Pork ribs and butts or a brisket cooked low and slow isn't too bad either on a cold winters day.

Re: Did I Mention?
Amen brother! I actually think that the food tastes better when it is cold outside and you fire up the grill. We grill at least 3 times a week. It really keeps the house cooler in the summer and nothing is better than a homemade pizza on the grill.

Re: Did I Mention?
I cooked beer brats on the grill a couple of weeks ago. Was below zero. no big deal, just had a jacket on. Taste the same as they do in summer.
