New PullRite Hitch Available
Hi Everyone. Over the last few weeks I had posted some questions about various hitch options, specifically in the Ford short beds. I just sold my 2003 Silverado for a 2008 Ford F250 and had my hitch transferred to the new (to me) truck. After taking for a test ride, I didn't like what I saw so I started exploring options - slider hitches. Based on feedback I decided to go with the SuperGlide. I contacted a local dealer (Redman's Trailer Sales - Rob Redman) to get a price put together for the PullRite 16K, Adapter Kit (to fit in my existing Reese base rails) and a Capture Plate. When Rob called me back, he said that PullRite had just announced a 15K SuperGlide - designed specifically for people that had pre-existing base rails. It was great news so I ordered it. Well, I installed it this weekend and so far so good (only went for a ride around town). It appears to work as advertised, fit in my existing base rails (not requiring the $270 adapter) and I "think" has now solved my concerns over turning/cornering/backing up. I'll have to give it a full test when we head out for the first trip, but I figured I'd let the group here know in case someone else was in my predicament (existing base rails from another hitch). I just checked PullRite's site and it's not out there as an available product yet though - so it's hot off the press as they say!
Rob Redman was fantastic to deal with and I liked the price ($1180 for the hitch and capture plate). Here's a picture:

I like it!!!
I wonder if Pullrite would trade my setup with the adapter and hitch for one of these without the adapter....
It would make me ride level instead of nose high.
Hmmmm.....

Do you need or think a bedsaver would be required on this unit?

Re: New PullRite Hitch Available
My new pullrite looks just like the one pictured. I check every time but might like a bedsaver or pin lock to be sure.
Thanks,
Richard

Saddlenow the pullrite does not have a pin lock per say as other hitches do. I use an aluminum carabiner with a spring gate, after hooking up, the carabiner is then put on at the handle area where it goes through the hitch body this way the handle can not accidentally be lifted and pulled out to release the RV if you want you can use a lock with a long shank.

Hey Rich5117, do you have a picture of this. I have a carbiner, but would like to see how you attach this. Thanks,
Richard

Saddlenow, Sorry it is dark outside but I think this will be light enough. Pullrite mentions this on their site if you can put up with reading all the small print.

That's a neat idea, I will start to use the same method, it just adds peace of mind.
All these little snippets of info are usually very useful

BTW Pullrite says:
"Richard,
We do not recommend using a bedsaver on your hitch. If you follow the hitching procedures and do your safety checks there is no way that you will drop your trailer.

I would keep that if you have it in writing of some fashion. While I am sure it a very slim possibility but a catastrophic failure of the pin arm would allow the trailer to come loose. If this does happen I'm not even sure a bed saver would help, Let hope none of us ever has to worry about it.
