Hammered in the Mid-Atlantic
We got somewhere between 24 & 30 inches Friday through Saturday.

[/img] This drift was almost 5 feet tall. We worked on it for 30 minutes and got no where. Snow blower wouldn't work cause its only 18 inches high. Ended up paying someone with a front end loader to remove it.

The driveway looks neat and tidy. Well worth the cost of having someone clear it.
Reminds me of how glad I am that we moved south.

It looks to me like Tom is really good at backing a trailer...unless Sharon does the backing.

I do it, sometimes with MANY tries. But I'm getting better, when we first brought it home, it took me 45 minutes to get it there. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

Re: Hammered in the Mid-Atlantic
When a noreaster hits the the mid-atlantic states just right, you guys sure do get hammered. Even in NH its a rare thing to get that much snow in one blow. The nearest that I can remember is the blizzard of 1978 when we got 42" in one storm, but that is a rarity.
The DW and I were stranded in Dover, DE in 1979 at the Sheraton by a 24" blizzard. With nothing to stop the wind but a tree and a barb wire fence the drifts piled up pretty quick.
BTW, nice job of clearing the driveway.

Tom,
The DW and I used to spend a week-end in February (around our anniversary) in Dover each year until 1980. We loved the Blue Coat Inn and visiting the John Dickinson mansion. We stop in Dover every now and then on the way south (when not towing) and it sure has changed. I think that DE1 has had alot to do with that. US13 used to be such a nice ride.
We moved to NH in late 1979 due to a job change.

Re: Hammered in the Mid-Atlantic
It amazes me how much snow hit all around our house.
Within a 1.5hr drive east from our house there was 24"+ of snow.
Within 45 minutes north and south there was 12" snow.
We had less than 1".

Re: Hammered in the Mid-Atlantic
I was watching the news last night, and they mentioned that as of Yesterday Concord NH had around 38" of snow so far this year. You folks in Maryland have had over 56". What's wrong with this picture? Not that I am complaining.....
