Wet carpet in living area
I have another question for you guys, I came home and found wet carpet in living area on my 2007 32 qbbs. I found where is was coming from , there was a leaking hose on the water filter, so i fixed it. My question is do you think i did any damage to the flooring ? and is it partical board flooring or what kind of material is it made of ? hope i dont have problems later on with floor getting a soft spot. It was not flooded , just wet . thanks Bobby

Re: Wet carpet in living area
Our carpet got wet while traveling in heavy rain also. We used newspaper and towels to absorb as much water as possible, then aimed a fan at the carpet for about a day. We've never had any problems with the floor. We took the 'Cat back to the dealer, they did something that seemed to work. We've never had to drive in such a hard rain since, and are assuming it is fixed.

As scruffy & Tater said, put a fan on it for a day or 2, you'll be fine.

Re: Wet carpet in living area
When we first started looking at Wildcats, I found that one had wet carpeting near the couch "29rlbs", under the plastic that was protecting the new carpet. This was a new unit. I found out by talking to the guys in the shop, that some of the units had problems from rain water being thrown up from the tires as it went down the road in the rain. They said they had a fix for it, but I decided not to purchase that unit. Anyone have this problem?

We don't know if the "fix" that they did at the dealer's worked or not. If we drive in heavy rain, and the carpeting gets wet, we'll try Shooter's fix.

Re: Wet carpet in living area
What is this fix you are talking about? I just took delivery of a new 09 32QBBS and when I got home after driving through heavy rain the carpet under the sofa was wet (talk about a pissed off wife; brand new unit and already had a problem before our first use). I looked under the slide and found that there were several tie wraps around the gasket pinching it near the tire area so I cut them off assuming they were they weren't supposed to be there but i haven't driven through any rain since then to see if the problem is solved.

Re: Wet carpet in living area
The fix, pictures here, is to go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy the rubber that goes under a garage door, some self threading hex head screws, washers, & double stick tape.
As seen in Shooter's pictures, open the slide, put double stick tape along the lip to hold the rubber there, drill holes every 12 inches for the screws you bought. Then put the washers onto the screws, and run them in.
When the slide closes, this rubber will take up the space between the coach and the slide, stopping the rain water from entering as you drive.
I had to do this to mine, works great!!!
Oh, these hex heads only need to be 3/4 to 1 inch long, mine are #14's.

Re: Wet carpet in living area
In my TT the floor was 3/8 plywood. Figure it's not much different, floor feels about the same. I also had a problem with water coming in back by couch. Found that their was an opening in the seal for slide. I think Shooters idea will work wonders for that problem. I have 2 large slides on both sides this will solve my concerns.

Bboze, you also might want to make a note and if you left your water pump on, to make sure its off when you pull and leave your trailer for any length of time.
It sounds like the pump was still on after the line had began leaking??????
