Low Shower Pressure

Low Shower Pressure
We have very low pressure in the shower - dry camping or with hookups. I took the the shower hose off on the faucet side. Coming out of the faucet fixture there is only a small hole, offset so that it looks like hardly any water could get thru. Has anyone drilled out this hole to increase the water flow to the shower head? Good idea or bad?

I have a new Camco shower head but the pressure is still low. Has anyone heard of D Spud connector that replaces the vacuum breaker connection to the faucets?

My shower head assy was also full of wood when I first used it. Had to take it all apart to get the wood and sawdust out of it. I used a tooth pick to clean out the spray holes.

Check your outside shower. make sure the hot and cold water valves are cut off. If the valves are on and the shower head is cut off, the water bypasses in the valves causing low pressure. It will also cause lower hotwater temp. in the shower and sinks.

Do you have the original shower head, the white one?
We replaced ours with this
Made a big difference, even when the pump was supplying water.

We have a new Camco showerhead. Pressure seems to be the same - low - as it was before. Read somewhere that replacing the vacuum breaker at the faucet with a "D Spud" would increase the water flow. Anyone heard this? Thanks.

Never had a problem with vacuum breaker. The head was plugged from to many showers. Bought the Chrome set this time, LOL.

Re: Low Shower Pressure
We also replaced ours with a cheap model from Wal-Mart that had a longer hose. My daughter likes to remove the shower head from the mount and hold it in her hand and the original hose was hard and not quite long enough.
I also had a problem with wood/sawdust but mine was with the bathroom sink... I couldn't get a drop to come out of it. After looking at the plumbing lines to ensure there were no shutoffs, I took the faucet apart and was shocked at the amount of stuff in there!! Cleaned it out and it worked like a charm.

I have to watch what park I stay at. I ask before hooking up my water hose. A lot of the parks here are regulated. Add another regulator at the trailer and water pressure is, well what water pressure.

Re: Low Shower Pressure
I drilled out the littel hole and got a lot more water out of it. A good and simple mod if your going to keep the stock head.
