Reporting In

Post by Frank L on 2/4/2010, 5:20 am

We left Cobbs Creek January 5th for sunny Florida and made it in two days. We stayed our first nine days in Wekiwa Springs State Park. Although we've stayed there before and always enjoyed it, we never felt as cold! We used a thrity pound cylinder of propane just staying warm. (So much for insulation). Anyhow we left there on January 15th and checked into Collier Seminole State Park just outside of Naples for our second two week stay. The temperatures were great and we did a lot of "nothing" which I enjoy. We did do a lot of walking and bicycling. We drove from there to South Bay. For those of you looking for a winter haven, this might be it. It is a county park of Palm Beach County and looks like a private park with well manicured grounds, paved sites with full hookups, shuffleboard, bike trail (on the levee) and very nice rest rooms. All for $22.00 a nite or $600 per month. 100 day maximum stay. We are now in Johnathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound, Fl. Once again a beautiful park. Our section just opened three weeks ago after a total renovation. These sites also have full hookups and our gravel. There are a multitude of bike trails, swimming, boating, fishing and of course we are about a five mile drive to the beach. The temperature today (11:20 AM) is 79 and the breeze from the ocean is keeping things pleasent. Well that's my update. Hope all of you are staying healthy and warm. Happy Trails.

Thanks for the update. I always enjoy reading what other RV'ers are doing, especially when I'm cooped up indoors.
