We had them installed a year or so ago. We're glad we have them. Where we are parked right now, we'd have an inch of pine straw on top of our slides, which we'd have to clean/blow off before putting the slides in. With the awnings, the pine straw lands on the awning and blows off easily.

The awnings also keep the sun/heat off the slides, helping to keep it cool in the summer. They also keep the rain from making a lot of noise on the slides. We think the $$ was well spent.

We have them also. I second what Scruffy and Tater quoted.

We have them too, and ditto on what everyone else says.

Only issue I have is the water pools on them in a heavy rain. So, I just lower the landing gear all the way down and hide under the bedroom. LOTS of water runs off and you don't want to be standing next to the slide when it come rushing off. TRUST ME!!! I KNOW!!!!

Do any of you have skylights in your slides? Our 24RL has two skylights, I had thought about awnings for the very same reason about pine straw and leafs, but would be dark in the slides with the awnings?

I either heard , read or dreamed that inflated beach balls under the awnings would keep the water from pooling

Tom:
What about getting a shower when cranking up the back left stablizer.

Hi Frank,
Cant say i've done this one, I usually lower the landing gear and take the pressure off the rear stablizers before I crank them up with my electric drill.

This is true, you did read it, but here is what Phillip(ADMIN) came up with:
