Make your reservation now and plan on getting up early. Take along coats, hats and gloves. Yes one other thing $$. I would love to go back again and its seems like tours gets the best spots.

Been twice and loved it. Didn't camp though, it was pre wildcat times.
You will need to get up early, and the coat, hat and gloves is a good idea. It's mostly a morning and evening thing. Look online and they will have a schedule of events.
We would go in the morning and watch the mass ascention then spend the day shopping or sightseeing then come back in the evening for the balloon glow and fireworks show. You will have to pay twice to get in and for parking unless your camping on the grounds.
The arial tram to Sandia Peaks was really neat and close by.

We made our reservations and can't wait. We are going to stay at the Fiesta itself. Yes it is pricey, but, if you look at the price of parking and admission each day (which is included) it brings off site camping close to the same price.

Sounds wonderful. Years ago I found some great photos of hot air balloons. I'd love to see them in person. Some were bottle shaped, I think one was a stagecoach (Wells Fargo, I think), there were lots of animals. Take pictures, please, and share them here.

Re: Albuquerque 2010 Balloon Fiesta
If you have questions about the area let me know. I live here in Abq.
I recommend staying as close to the park as you can like previously mentioned, but reserve soon and pay out your nose!
Take winter gear for the morning, but have summer gear for the days as it still gets warm during daytime. Lows will be 30s and 40s in the morning for mass assention and then arounde 10-11 will be 60s and 70s for the day. Special shapes rodeo during the afternoon weekdays are a good show as well.
Anyway, if you need to know something or want someone to track down info for you, let me know!
