Slide Motor

Post by ribbs65 on Sun Jan 10, 2010 4:13 pm

I have 2007 28RK. The slide is electric with a container for hydraulic fluid. It is about half full. Is this right or should it be full?

It depends on whether your slide is in or out. If it is is in, I would say you are low on fluid.

My manual says to check the tank with the slides in, and the fluid should be approximately 1/2 inch below the filler cap. The fluid in mine is automatic trasmission.

I marked mine with a permanent marker. When the slide is in and when it is out. Save alot of guess work later. It didn't drop too much if I can remember correctly. I think it only dropped about an inch, might not be quite that much. IF I get a chance to look I'll see how much a change I have marked.. I have a 29RLBS with two slides.

I'm sorry but I can't see the fluid level moving very little if at all. All the pump should be doing is moving fluid from in front of the ram to behind it then vice versa.

Although when the ram is out it will take more fluid becaus the rod doesn't take up space in the cylinder.

I just looked at my reservoir and the fluid changed 1/8th inch from the in and out position. I have two slides and I marked the reservoir fluid level when the trailer was new. Hope this helps..also , the tank is very close to being full. I guess it is about 1/2in from the top. both of my marks are very close to the top..
