Landing gear handle alignment problem
I had a problem with our landing gear, the crank handle would not line up with the landing gear. So I cut our crank handle and welded in a socket swivel. The new handle works great, so now if our batteries are low I can still get the landing gear up. I found out this problem this past summer, the ground wire on the landing gear switch had come undone, no ground no switch that worked. You may want to check yours, I was lucky, we were at home and the work shop was close.

Hi Ken,
Nice mod, I assume you have electric slides?
I have hydraulic slides and don't have a hand crank.

Yes , We have the electric slides, ours is a 2007 24RL west coast model if that makes a difference. So your land gear is also hydraulic like the slides. What happens if your battery is dead, no way to work the landing gear or slides?

Re: Landing gear handle alignment problem
Tom,
I have electric gear and hydraulic slides. When the batteries are low, the electric motor has a hard time lifting the trailer. I've never been in that position with the WC with my solar panels always maintaining nearly a full charge. My old trailer didn't have them so after a long weekend, the batteries were low and it was fun (no fun) to raise it up. It didn't have a slide so I can't say the hydraulic pump would work well on extremely low batteries.

the hydraulics do not work well at all with a low battery. There is a spot at the back of the hydraulic motor that you put a 3/8" socket extension on with a drill motor and off you go. You need someone to press the hydraulic switch on the inside of the camper while you operate the drill motor. Thats if you do not have a secondary switch at the hydraulic motor. Works great , a little on the slow side though

Re: Landing gear handle alignment problem
I never received the crank handle with the purchase of our 2010 28RKBS that fits the landing gear as pictured in the first thread.
The only crank I got was the one for the rear stabilizers. Guess I will have to look harder and see if I can come up with one.

Stopped by my Wildcat Dealer today and told them that I never received the hand crank for manually lifting and lowering the front landing gear. They just went out to one sitting on the lot and gave me one. I checked the alingment and it worked perfect.
Thanks for the heads up on the missing crank.....

Befor I added my 4- 6v. my 1, 12volt went dead so I just pluged back in the truck with it running and the landing gear took off. I made a extection cord for the truck. You never know. We don't take the Honda 3000 all the time just when are trip is longer than 4 days
