31 TS owners

Post by moo2613 on 1/5/2010, 4:42 am

We really like the 31TS and I have been looking around (that means that the wife is not convinced we need a different camper). I found one at Tom Raper RV in Indiana for $29,900, we'll call it $30. Is that a good deal, or can I find better? My local dealer is stuck at $38 and they are selling them like hot cakes.

Brad,
I used www.rvholesalers.com as a reference to a great price. They do have 2 in stock, but you have to put your info in to get the price. I don't think they take trades, but you could build one with all the goodies you'd like and see what their price is.

PS,

I just went to their site and priced out a fully loaded 31TS, they dont give you the price on the website anymore. You have to fill out the form to get a price. BUMMER!!!!!

OH, DID YOU KNOW 50AMP SERVICE AND 2nd AC UNIT PREP AND DUAL PANE WINDOWS ARE NOW OPTIONS!!!!!!

I was just on their site myself and noticed that there are a few options not available anymore (on the 28RKBS model) Equa-flex suspension, Hydraulic landing gear, Roto Flex pin box. I wonder if this is just RVW or Forest River

Yeah, I like all of the new options!!

Jim,
I think that the equa-flex and hydraulic landing gear are now standard on all of the Wildcats.

We went to the dealer today to look again and we both agree that we are going to look at some other options (brands). Nothing against Wildcats, we love ours, but others have nicer options. Like more counter space, swing-out septic hook-up, generator prep option, the ability to control slides separately.

Oh, ok, I found it hard to believe that they would drop those options.

We looked at all brands of campers in 4 states and on the internet including rv wholesalers and ended up taking a price from RVW to or local dealer and he was just as cheap. While in Nashville , Tn went to a dealer there and their price was close to rvw also. Foolsrushin bought his there. We did not find a camper with everything exactly that we wanted. We ordered ours and ended up wishing we had got a couple of things we left off. We love our 31ts and we know as new things come out we will be adding things . Happy Camping Jim

Our 31TS is great; after the couple of trips we took before we had to put it in winter storage we even like it better. Our dealer, RV Service & Sales in LaVergne, TN is great. This is our 2nd 5'er from them. The owner did tell us after he came back from Forest River's dealer meeting that most dealers pushed for an option for 50 Amp and a 2nd A/C. They got to where they were putting 2nd air conditioners on all of them. It is mighty warm in the south during the summer. We are used to having 2 shore lines, turned out not to be a a big deal, but if anyone is considering a 31TS we strongly encourage that you take the 50 amp service and put in the 2nd A/C. We are so looking forward to spring and taking out on another trip. As cold as this winter has been so far really we are just hanging in there until spring.

It's not what we would have left off it is what we left off that we wish we would have put on.We have rear electric jacks , 16 in tires with equexflex , jt stabilizers , power cabinet over sink , pretty well loaded . I should have ordered the slidout awnings and if i was ordering now would order 50 amp. Overall we still love the 31ts and we looked at 3 rv shows and dealers in 5 states not 4. Hope this helps anything else I can do for you let me know. Happy Camping Jim

We had our dealer install slide out awnings. The 2nd A/C required a 2nd Shore Line to power it. If 50 amp had been available it definately would have been ordered. Now if Forest River would just offer a generator prep.

We'd like to know who manufactures the fireplace for the 31ts or other trailers. Anybody know? Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks, Jim. I looked for that model, in the Dimplex website, and couldn't find it. Also searched google. Maybe it's a model that is available to trailer manufacturers only. I found one by another manufacturer that might fit. Now we are debating whether to make more storage space or put in a fireplace..... if there is room for either. We have to pull out a panel to see how much space is there.
