Great way to start the New Year:(((

Post by mga60tw on 1/1/2010, 6:04 am

Sitting in the camper and hear this loud bang. Tree limb feel and hit the awning. Guess what nice hole about 2 inches right near the end where it rolls up. Any ideas how to patch? I was thinking of the good old duct tape:)

Were you in a private CG when this occured? If so, there may be some liability on the owner's part.

Awning Repair Tape I don't have any experience with this stuff, but I have read that the repair will last 2 to 4 years at best. Sooner or later the permanent fix is awning fabric replacement.

It was a private campground. Will my insurance cover this?

I used the awning repair tape 2 years ago on my awnings and toppers when I got caught in a hail storm. Its still holding just fine. Only problem is, it starts out clear, but now its dirty looking. It is so sticky that you only get 1 shot on putting it on. I put a piece on each side of the hole.

See if the campground will cover it first.

Your insurance should cover it using your comprehensive, you would only have to pay your deductable.
