Fluid seeping from fitting on Hydro Pump

Post by bsmall2800 on 12/30/2009, 4:08 pm

Been having a little fluid seeping from one of the fittings just prior to where the quick disconnect valve was. I attempted tightening the fitting but it didnt work. I called Lippert to see if I could remove the quick disconnect valve and he said you sure can. He said they serve no purpose to me, it was placed in the system just to prime the hoses at the time it was originally filled. He said if I wanted I could just plug both lines at the manifold. So I bought two caps ($2.00) and capped both of these lines right at the T. The Lippert tech said Forest River should have just capped the lines and removed the quick disconnect valve and misc fittings that lead up to the Q.D. valve.

It looks almost like as Air Hose quick disconnect but the male end has a spring loaded plug to let the oil pass thru when the female end is attached and to seal when unhooked.

Tom, the quick disconnect fittings are the end fittings with a little tit looking thing on the end of them. I basically removed all the fittings from the QD to the T and capped the end coming out of the T.

Here is my end result of the batteries I installed. I have to modify the battery box by cutting out the bottom of the box and sliding it over the last battery. I am working on that now thats why its not boxed and covered.

Here Tom is a picture of the cap, there is also another cap now on the back side of the pump not pictured.

Thanks Bill, but I don't have them, I don't think...

I'll have to go look tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I don't have that.
