Dealer removed dump cables for Black&Grey Tank
Well as everyone knows I had gate valve problem with the black tank, not holding back the waste with the dump handle pushed in as far as it would go.
The dealer called and said that he has seen a lot of problems with the style of cables FR uses and not letting the gate valve close fully. He suggested to cut out the old valves and replace them with the manual type which I agreed with. Some of the problems were with how FR ran the cable and the size of the cable itself. One of my cables was about four feet in length and the tank was only about 20 inches from the handle. This particular cable weaved back-and-forth along the frame rail making a loop until in was connected to the valve. Very bad design in my opinion no wonder the valve would not close all the way with the way the cable was routed. So I will be picking it up on Friday and see how things look and work....

Re: Dealer removed dump cables for Black&Grey Tank
Picked up the Cat, and they did a great job on re-installing the manual style gate valve for the bathroom grey tank and black tank. They went ahead of left the original pull style in for the galley tank. It seems to work like its designed to, basically its a straight shot from the pull handle to valve, so perhaps thats why it works.
The LED lights look and work great.

Bill this sounds like something I might want to do. I don't feel real comfortable with these hidden valves. I have had a problem with one of mine not closing, it was fixed under warranty but now I own the problem. Could you send,or include a picture of the modification? Thanks ! Have A Happy New Year ! Duke, I will post what I have and if you need more detailed pictures let me know. Not really sure just what they had to remove and replace because the under belly wraping is blocking a lot of the view you would have, along with that spray foam that is sprayed around the valve. Maybe they just put a pull handle on the original valves and then resealed everything. I can do a little more inquiring with the dealer if you would like?
I plan on sealing the area around the valve handles a little better than what the dealer did to get somewhat water tight.
