Battery Problem
This is an update to a previous problem I had. I thought a new replacement battery would cure the problem, but it didn't. I troubleshot the converter and the output is good, according to the troubleshooting guide, at the circuit board. The problem is that only about half of that voltage is getting to the battery to keep it charged. Has anybody had this problem before? A tech at Camping World told me that I have a bad connection between the battery and the converter on the negative side. Any ideals?

Re: Battery Problem
A bad connection would create resistance (heat) which would indeed reduce the voltage, which is what resistance does.
However, I'm not convinced it would be on the negative side. The negative side of the battery goes to ground, as do all of the other 12VDC appliances/lights in the trailer. On my 29RLBS the black (negative) cable of the battery goes right to the frame of the trailer. I haven't traced out the wiring from the trickle charge circuit of the converter, but I'd think the negative side would go to ground, rather than to the battery. I'd be more suspicious of the red (positive) side.
Best of luck in tracing it out. Electrical problems can be a bear to find and fix.
