Nitrogen in the tires?

Nitrogen in the tires?
I just thought of something the dealer was telling us during our walk-thru of our new 29RLBS last saturday.
I noticed a sticker on the outer wall that read "nitrogen filled tires" or something similiar.
I asked the guy why this was and his reply was it rides better and I if I have to change a tire, I should get it inflated back with nitrogen like the others. (Not immediately but at the first chance.) He may have said they run cooler as well.
Anyone have any experience with nitrogen filled tires? Pros? Cons?
Nitrogen filled tires is a new one to me.

Re: Nitrogen in the tires?
Nitrogen doesn't make any differences on the ride just inflation. Nitrogen is a more stable gas than air which means it doesn't expand and contract as much as air would it stays at a more consistant level. the moleculs are larger than air so they don't leak out as fast as air would either but it will over time slowly leak out just like any tire you have on any vehicle. Nitrogen, since its an inert gas it doesn't attract moisture as much which helps stop future corrosion. If you check your tires before, during, and after any trips they will be just fine with standerd air. Don't let them suck you in so they can make more money. hope that helps.

Re: Nitrogen in the tires?
Dry air contains roughly (by volume) 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1%. So, just filling your tires with air gives you 78% nitrogen. You won't notice any difference between nitrogen filled tires compared to air filled tires.

Thanks fellas.
I'm sure I'll go back with air as needed but was just wondering about the advantages of nitrogen.
After doing a little google research, it seems there is some advantages against long time tire wear and running cooler though.
I doubt I'll make the effort or pay the added expense for nitrogen filled tires. Air seems to have done me well for a few decades.

They say that there are benefits to using Nitrogen in the tires, but to me the cost out weighs the direct benefits. I'll stay with air, thank you.
