Funny how all the "funny" responses came from Ford owners.
Hey Phillip, how come we don't have Ram, GM and Chevy smilies Just to be fair right?

I smile every roadtrip when I watch the buddys I tow with fall farther and farther behind in their Furds and Chebys.....
And then the smile gets broader when we have to stop for fuel 100 miles sooner than normal so they can fill their tanks.

Re: Awards, yup!
Hey Huntr70;
Your telling the truth about fuel mileage,,, seems those cummins get fantastic mileage.
Us Furds owners who have the stock 6.0 engine are about equal to the late model stock cummins and the late model stock duramax engine in power. It is great that we all love our trucks. All three manufactures make a great product.
Being serious, I still think that if a company made a Ford body and Chassis, Cummins engine and Allison trans, they would have a killer truck. I would buy it. I love my manual trans, but that Allison is bullet proof.

Re: Awards, yup!
I waiting to see how Ford does with the new 6.7L and the new 6 speed now that Navistar is out of the picture for the light duty trucks. Ford doesn't usually have major problems when they keep the engine design in-house. Supposed to get better mileage and have torque numbers in the 700s.

Yes, those new Ford in house diesels do look very good....
Just not 100% sold on that Urea tank business....
I have read that all of the Big 3 will have that in the near future though.

Re: Awards, yup!
I'm sure we will see a urea delete in the aftermarket as it doesn't affect the engine operation at all - just the tail pipe emissions. I heard it goes into a reduce power mode when the Urea gets low or runs out to limit emissions. Not to mention the dash screaming at your that you need to refill.
My brother (diesel guy at my local Ford Dealer) has rebuilt a lot of 6.4L engines that were all stock that had melted pistons from the excessive heat from the exhaust regens. I hope they have it figured out in this new platform that they control.

The Cummins is good just as it is through the next iteration EPA terrorism. Won't need the urea tank.

Yes, the current engine is good for the 2010 regulations, but there is talk of more regs in 2012, and then Cummins will need to redesign it again.
From what I have read, Urea will go into that engine also.....
