Ford Owners - Question for you...
I am thinking of trading the Bowtie for a Blue Oval (15+ years owning a various GM products including my current Silverado). Have used the Silverado to tow the Wildcat successfully for the last 4+ seasons. It's been a great truck, but time for a change. I have a 2006 Wildcat 31QBH and together with the Silverado 1500HD, they sit nice and level. What I am conerned about is the Ford F250 4WD that I am looking at sits a bit higher than my Silverado. The Wildcat does NOT have any adjustments that can be made on the spring hangers - I know some of you have said you have the ability to adjust the height based on pre-existing holes in the brackets.
So here's the question (please, I am not looking to turn this into a Chevy v. Ford v. Dodge post): Those of you towing with an F250 (or F350 I guess) and have the stock (factory) springs/axles on the Cat, how does the truck/trailer combination sit when hooked up? Is the nose high? Any issues with clearance between the bed rails and the trailer?
Would appreciate any insight you can provide. Thanks!

I do need to add about 2 inch more clearance to my Cat and the bed of my truck. I notice today backing into the drive way I had only about 1 inch before it would hit the rail of the truck. A member on the form Bobby from NC has some pictures that showed how he raised the Cat up about 2 inch with metal blocks under the springs. Hope he can check in soon and give you a link to his pictures.

I'm not sure if I can help you or not. I recently traded my 2001 2500HD Duramax 2wd for a 2008 F250 4x4. My Ford sits a lot higher than my other truck. But, I added a Sidewinder/5th Airborne pin box and I actually have more room above the rail of the truck than before. It might ride a little bit nose high but not so much that I've really noticed it.

My 02' Super Crew F250 4x4 sits up there pretty high but have no problems with my 02' 27' RK. I actually lowered my 5th wheel plate down a couple of notches to level out the trailer. I have a good 6" clearance this way.

We have the 06 F350 4x4 with towing package,, so it is very high, but one of the reasons we purchased our WC was because it pulls level with the bed rails of our tall truck.

I have a 2004
F-350 4x4 with a 2005 RLBS Wildcat. I was able to raise our Wildcat with the spring hangers. After raising the Wildcat and dropping the hitch as low as it would go. I am 6" at the tailgate and 6 1/2" at the front of the trailer at the side rails.

We have a 2008 F-350 4x4 with a 24RL Wildcat. I dropped the 5th wheel hitch down and the Wildcat sets right with the truck. Our drive is steep and I have not had any problems backing the Cat up the drive, no clearance problems. This was my first 4x4, and I like the ride better than our old F150. With the 24RL I don't even know its back there, great trailer and great truck. Oh and I also dive a Chev truck, but love the Ford when we are on the road camping.

My truck and west coast WC sit level.
I'm guessing you have a east coast model. If you have the 225/75r15 tires, it will be different than mine. I also think there are minor differences in the frame as you stated (no adjustments on the suspension)
I ordered with the 235/80r16 which give you at least 1 1/4" (2 1/2" diameter difference).
I adjusted the hitch and pinbox so it would be level since the trailer sat so high. I had to drop the pinbox one notch and raise the hitch.
When I picked it up at the factory, it was nose down about 2-3 inches. Quite opposite of most setups.
Historically, the F250 had a 2" rear block and the F350 had a 4" rear block. I haven't had any issues with the taller back end of the Ford.

We have a 2007 F250 4X4 and it fits our 2008 27WC fine. Nice and level and pulls great. I will try and post a pic if I can ever figure out how!! :)

Here is a photo of our 2008 F350 4x4 and our 24RL (west coast model) The Wildcat seems to set just right, I did lower the hitch and the trailer has 15" wheels.
