So Much for the Golden Age Pass

Post by oldelmer1 on 12/10/2009, 11:59 am

Here we couldn't wait for the AGE(3 months) to get the Golden Age Pass, and now our Government is looking to cut the discount.

Saw this in Passport America News Blast.

It is always something...I could go on,,, but it a nice day, and I don't want to rant. Someday the government will charge us to breath... Or have they done that already.

I just made reservations at a FL state park and they would not give me the discount. I had to pay full price and was very surprise.

I couldn't get the website to work either, but I sent my Congressman an email letting him know what I thought and asked him to look into it. If he responds to me, I will post it here.

Elmer, the link is working now. I left them my 4 cents worth. I'm sure they are really getting an ear full.

I want all the money i've paid into social security back. Seeing as I will probably not get it when I retire. <---- That word will probably be banished from the english language in the next few years.

You are right... the only thing I do not understand is why we the tax paying voter keep voting in these crooks. I am loosing faith in the average voter's intelligence. The answer is that when you see incumbent next to a persons name, vote for someone else.

Scruffy, that would most likely make your ears burn and your head explode. This administration won't stop until they have taken every last $ away from us.

I have to agree with Maxtor. Vote the bums out! None of them are, "of, by nor for the people". They have voted themselves special privileges throughout history. It's time that the "silent majority" step up and "VOTE THE BUMS OUT"! No incumbent will receive my vote, including retention of judges! And if elected I will .............oh well, just vote! It's unbelievable that only about 25% of registered voters take the time to cast ballots. See ya at the polls!

We voted to keep them out, we voted for change, but the welfare crowd voted them in.

I totally lost that many years ago when they voted Carter in. Most people I know vote for whomever they think will give them the biggest check. Long ago, a lot of people quit thinking about what is best for the country. It's the "I want it now and don't worry about the consequences mentality". Just look at the big balances on revolving charge cards, people buying houses and cars they can't afford with the only consideration being "can I make the next payment". I hope I have raised my kids better; my oldest is doing well and very independent; my two younger ones will be graduating from college in the next year with zero debt and no credit cards; one drives a 20 year old car, the other a 10 year old car.

Sorry to rant; I'm in bed with the flu and don't have anything else to do.

Limit the lawmakers to one term only
To fix Social Security is take the lawmakers retirement plan away and put them like the rest of the people under the Social Security
To fix the Health Care is to put all of us under the lawmakers Health care Plan.

Scott Hope you are feeling better.

I like your thinking, but if they served only one term, they would change their retirement benefits to read full retirement after one term.

Don't give them retirement other than SS that way every Retired person would get a nice check from SS. Because they would see to that.
