Greased bushings for Equa Flex

Both EZ-Flex and Equaflex are both very good. EZ-Flex fit our 2006
29rlbs the best. The benefits are a smoother ride and much stronger
units, with greased metal bushings, not plastic like which comes stock
from the factory. I think the main difference is shackle length, but
there may be more.

RichGeorge, make sure to buy the "wet bolt kit". We have a stretch of
highway around Richmond which is terrible and this upgrade made a
difference. Be sure to measure the shackles - the ones in my kit were
longer than the original and I didn't pay attention to that and lowered
my trailer - had to do it again with the same length shackles that were
installed originally.
oldelmer1 wrote:We have the Equa-Flex and I did see a difference also, and would definitely do it again. As
Mike said, be sure to get the WET BOLT KIT. Out original shackles were
waring and the nylon bushings were almost shot.
I'm starting a new thread because I didn't want to steal the other one. Ok guys, I must have missed this; cough up the goods. Where do you get a "wet bolt kit"? Is this something available from FR or is it aftermarket? Do the shackles get replaced, or just the bolts. After looking at GKEAGER's photos, I'm worried.
Thanks

Re: Greased bushings for Equa Flex
Bought the kit from Trailair direct when I bought our Equa-Flex. Just tell them that you want one. I think it was a little over $40.00.

Re: Greased bushings for Equa Flex
Same here, is is new bolts and bushings.
Question for Shooter. Did you put the wet bolts in the shackels at the far ends of the springs also or just where the equa-flex was involved? They send enough bolts to do the ends of the springs also, but I didn't put mine in at the time.

Re: Greased bushings for Equa Flex
For those of you that installed the wet bolt kit yourself, approximately how long did it take you? Is it just a matter of supporting the frame and springs and pulling old bolts / bushings out and installing new?

Re: Greased bushings for Equa Flex
Yep, it's that simple. It took me about 3 hours if I remember right for the whole install of the Equa-Flex, but keep in mind I did not change the bolts on the ends of the springs. I do plan on doing that sometime. I had borrowed a guys shop and used his jacks, so I need to figure out a way to do it at my place now.

Re: Greased bushings for Equa Flex
EZ-Flex comes with the good parts... You do not have to order a special wet bolt kit.
Below is a picture, not especially the place to purchase them.

Yes, I installed them at the end of the springs since the springa had to come off in order to install the bronze bushings.

I left the old plastic ones in, but this winter I do plan on changing them. Thank you

Re: Greased bushings for Equa Flex
I bought the wet bolt kit at the same time as the equa-flex kit, but had them installed. I bought direct at http://www.trailair.com/products/equaflex/pricing.php. My old parts were no where near as bad as GKEAGER's, but were wearing too. At this point I grease once per year in the spring, when I repack wheel bearings.
