Wheel Lug Nut Size????

Post by bsmall2800 on 12/9/2009, 1:54 pm

Ok all, my Cat has the new style 16" wheels. I am trying to find a deep well socket that fits the lug nuts. Can anyone give me the correct size of the socket. I must have about 6 different deep well sockets but none of them seem to fit....
Thanks

Both, I just found an older starwrench and the size that seemed to fit the best was 3/4 -19mm. One problem I had was that the starwrench didn't want to fit into a couple of the lug holes, very tight. So now I might buy a deep well 3/4 and a 19mm and see if it fits any better than the starwrench.

Went by Sears and bought a deep well 3/4 inch 1/2 inch drive socket fits and works perfect.

Mine is 3/4". I carry the socket and a torque wrench, but I don't need a deep socket.

How much do you torque your wheel lugs to?

Bought an el-cheapo 24" breaker bar and a deepwall socket. The socket also fits the truck. May all of your impact wrenches die a painful death!

Specs I found are 90-120. I set my wrench at 100.
