Hydraulic Slideout Question
I have a 2002 Wildcat with one large slide out powered by a hydraulic jack. I have never had any problems with the system and am very satisfied. The jack and pump should last a lifetime as it really gets very little use, maybe a few hundred cycles since I purchased the Wildcat.
But my concern is the hoses. They are now 7 years old and my experience with hydraulics is that with age, the hoses go first. They are under the cat and not exposed to sun and the weather so should be ok.
Has anyone had any trouble with hoses on an older Wildcat?
Thanks,
Bobby

Re: Hydraulic Slideout Question
I'm surprised no one has spoken up on this question.
I'd think that the way the hoses are housed inside the camper, that they should last for years. the only thing you'd have to worry about is the hose rubbing a hole while driving down the road.
Hoses on tractors have lasted for years , and they're exposed to the elements , about the only time they blow is when your working the crap out of them loading dirt or digging and putting it in a bind.

Re: Hydraulic Slideout Question
I agree (mainly because I do not want the headache of changing the hoses), they should last for years. We have tractors from the 50's that still have original lines on them. I even have a 1953 John Deere 40 crawler that the beavers chewed on the lines back in the 50's while it was stuck for the winter. I can still show you where they chewed them down to the metal braiding.

Re: Hydraulic Slideout Question
I agree. If it aint' broke don't fix it. My tractor sits in the sun all day and the hoses are in good shape. It's seen weather extremes of -10°F to 109°F (while running). It only a 1995 model though. Brad's JD is a better example.
