New tow rig... terrible gas mileage...

Post by Maxtor on 11/21/2009, 6:58 pm

Here is a picture of my other tow rig... Problem is the 4 mpg. And that is not pulling anything.

Just remember those trailer tires are only rated for 65mph. ....

I like the exhaust out the front ,,,, hope you have good hearing protection and a unlimited gas card. those green lights come fast.

Yes,,, at $7.85 per gallon of fuel, the gas card will get a good workout. I am not sure it will get to 65 mph, because it only has 787 hp. Maybe when I hit the nitrous button, it might reach 65 mph.
Sound is not a problem, it purrs like a kitten, or at least that is what my neighbors who live two miles away say...

Being serious, I am happy about how it turned out, and look forward to taking it to the track. Without the shock towers, there is plenty of room to work on the engine.

Oh wait ,,, is that the Redding tariff police I see coming ? lol!

Seems the rule says if you have over 500hp in your car you must hook it up to the power grid and bleed off the extra power into the grid system.... lol!

Shissssh. Don't say a word, or Kalifornia might do it. Don't give them any more ideas on ways to take more of our money. You would not believe all the tax laws on the books, and they are passing more every day. I would list a bunch of them, but since it is a very nice day today, I don't want to ruin it.

No air filter of any sort? Seems like an awful lot of investment to get screwed up by a piece of sand.

So, when can we drive it??

As it sits in the garage now, it has a towel over the stack. When it is on the trailer going from one place to the other, it has a air filter assembly on it. When it goes down the track, NO filter of any kind.
What sand?? LOL.... None here in Northern California. Now in southern Kalifornia,,, they have lots of sand.

So, when are you going to haul it out to the mid west so we can drive it?

I might haul it out east to Nevada. They have a nice track in Las Vegas. Depending on how fast and scary this thing is, I might have a younger guy drive it. Of course, I have the option of not pushing down all the way on the gas pedal.

All our snow is gone for now, but more suppose to come on Tuesday of next week. We've had 2 inches of rain the last few days, makes a total of 3.26 inches for this month so far. Looks like another 6 inch month is on its way.

Maxtor,

Maybe you could give them an IOU like they've been doing to many of the states civilian contractors.
