Camping while working.

Post by Big Dave on Sat Apr 05, 2008 4:25 pm

This is at a campground near where we were working a couple of weeks ago. Nice enough place. I would like to have enjoyed it more if I didn't have to work.

Motel 6

Post by Admin on Sat Apr 05, 2008 4:50 pm

I bet that was a lot more relaxing than going back to a Motel 6,,,,,,,,

More relaxing and a whole lot cheaper. If I had more out of town jobs I could pay for the Cat in the difference between a motel room versus camping.

Nice looking WC, and campground.. I see you have stabilizers, how do you like them? What part of the country is the campground in?

I love the stabilizers. Easy to use and nothing to store to take up space.

The campground is just East of Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. http://www.ozarktrailsrvpark.com/

The new front cap is OK? I guess I do not like the fake radiator look :cyclops:

stabilizers

Post by fmazurk on Sat Jul 05, 2008 7:39 pm

This is the first I've seen the stabilizers on the front Landing gear?

Any specific details about their use?
1. Does it reduce the need for a tri pod on the front?
2. Does it reduce the up and down movement in the rig from the leaf springs? - I hate lifting most of the rig weight off the springs.
3. Factory?, Dealer?, DIY?, installed.

Never had a tripod but it does take the place of one.

It does not reduce the up and down movement. You'll have to use the front and rear jacks to get rid of that. It does take almost all of the side to side and front to rear movement. You have to get pretty rough before you can feel it move. Just normal walking around and general movement and the blinds don't swing at all.

Bought them from Tweety's online store and installed them myself. A couple of hours and a few tools and your good to go.

As for use just level your rig like you normally would and put down your rear stabilizers then just tighten the T-nuts and your done. Don't forget to loosen them when getting ready to tear down.

1. It eliminates the use of a tripod, I used to use a tripod and don't anymore.
2. Just like Big Dave said.
3. You probably save the most if you buy online and install yourself, but I am pretty sure a dealer will install, too.
