Veteran's Day!! How many of our members have family serving in the Armed Services?
Happy Veteran's Day!!
Thought it would be nice to know how many of us have a family member serving in the Armed Services. If you have a family member please add her or him to the list.
I will start by adding my son. I am very proud of him!!
Airman Walters, United States Air Force
serving in Kaiserslautern, Germany at Ramstien Air Base
age 20
will be deployed in December of 2010 to either Iraq or Afghanistan
Let us all remember to keep those serving in our thoughts!

I report to Ft. Jackson, SC this Sunday for two weeks of "re-greening' and then it's on to Ft. Knox, KY for the balance of the year (and maybe a second). I will be a staff officer in Operations with the U.S. Army Accessions Command.
Yesterday was my last day with my civilian employer. It was a great place to be and while I would welcome returning, DW and I are hoping that we can both retire at the end of my second year. THEN we will spend a lot more time in our 'Cat.

Glen, the best of everything for you. Hope your retirement plans work. Ours is on hold because of housing market. Could retire but can't sell the house. Like you I plan to travel alot.

I've got a cousin thats had the best roll of luck as I've ever seen for someone in the service. He started out in the marines, did the 9/11 thing at the pentagon, moved back to the military place in kansas somewhere where he was a hunting guide for elk , I guess the big brass likes to hunt a lot, stepped out of the military and right into a nice job with norfolk southern, re-enlisted to the air force reserves as a computer specialist, went straight to Gabon Africa for awhile, now he's kicking back in Italy for a year. I guess the rail road is still paying him to..... He's single also ,,,,, He was saying how lucky he was to have all that just fall in line, I told him not to get to giggly,,,, He's only a short skip and a hop to the front lines now.....

My son is a Navy Corpsman (combat). He usually serves with the 1st or 3rd Marines and is currently an instructor. We hope he gets to continue with this duty. He has been on active duty for 11 years.
