Ft Wilderness, WDW

Post by robertz675 on Wed 28 Oct - 1:54

Just returned from a family get together at WDW. What can I say, Disney is the best! The food and wine festival was good, but not as good as in past years. We stayed in the 400 loop. The sites are now all concrete with no shell or gravel. The 100 & 200 sites have not been upgraded yet. That is where we were supposed to be, but as you can see, I am better off with concrete. My cousin was pushing me around. The whole family helped, this way they could get to go to the front of most lines.

We left Ft Wilderness on Saturday and came back early Sunday morning so that we could get tickets to see Chef Robert Irvine from the Food Network. He is a very personable person. I had met him Thursday night in the restroom (long story) at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Karyn didn't believe me until she hunted him, his family and his business partner down. Trust me they both remember us real well now.

We have had to cancel quite a few of our upcoming trips until I heal. Karyn and I got married last month and I fell and hurt myself two weeks later. Talk about timing. But, you know what, I am happier than ever.

Bob

I'd have to agree, awesome place.

Hope you heal quickly.

Did it look like they were making the 100/ 200 loop bigger ?

Thats where we stayed when we went and it was convenient to the docks and dinner theater.

It doesn't look like they are doing anything to those loops since our last visit earlier this year. One thing that we did notice is that most of the loops are now "pet friendly" not like it used to be. They have been doing a lot of work keeping everything up to date.

We just got back yesterday. We were there from the 22nd through the 27th, sorry we missed you!! We were in the 1900 loop and I was not happy with their "improvements". We have stayed in that loop before and really liked it. They have gone through and removed the underbrush and only left a few large trees so there is no feeling of seclusion, if you are outside, you are with other people, like it or not. We ended up spending all of our time in the camper if we weren't out and about.

Bob and Karyn,
Congratulations! Scruffy and I are very happy for you. Sorry about the injury, though. Take care of yourself - we hope you heal very soon.

Thank you all for your well wishes. I fell in the supermarket (Winn Dixie), broke my knee socket. That will take 4 to 6 weeks to heal then they can operate and fix the ligaments and cartilage that were damaged.
