I hate to even ask but...

Post by TC on 10/9/2009, 8:01 am

I snagged my big awning while backing the Cat into storage. I haven't unfurled it yet to see how many layers deep the tear goes. I'm hoping it's just the top layer.

Anyway, I need some advice? Does awning repair tape hold up? Otherwise, I'll have to drop several hundred dollars to have the awning fabric replaced.

The awning repair tape is a temporary fix. May last a few years at best. You will eventually have to replace the fabric.

I used the awning tape, but I had 1 to 2 inch slits in my awning from hail. This happened in March of 2008. Still holding up, but again, only 1 to 2 inch slits.

What do you have to lose by trying it?
