Hydraulics 32 QBBS
Wildcats:
I have a 2006 32 QBBS. Unfortunately we’ve not camped since the last week of March. Today I put the battery, which has been on a charger, in to open the slide outs.
Here are the symptoms:
*slide outs and leveling system are very sluggish to extend out or down.
*I did notice the hydraulic fluid reservoir is half empty, even when the slide outs are in.
*The master bedroom slide out came in ok, but the kitchen slide out would come in an inch or two then stop. The converter would make a clicking noise as if no power.
*the white panel for the black and grey tanks and batter indicated the batter was completely charges.
*lights worked
*a.c. worked
*the electricity is plugged in to the house
Your thoughts?
Joey

Re: Hydraulics 32 QBBS
My first reaction is the battery, even though it was on a charger, is at the end of its life and a little weak. The hydraulic pump draws directly off the battery. That part is an easy fix. I would be concerned about the low level of hydraulic oil.

Re: Hydraulics 32 QBBS
If you have HYD landing gear, you'll need those fully retracted and all slide rooms to check your HYD fluid level.

Yep, I'd say the battery too. Had to replace mine this year also. Slide would come in VERY slow and almost stop completely. Indicator light would say charged.

Re: Hydraulics 32 QBBS
Although I do believe it's the battery, can you attached a charger to the battery while its hooked to the RV?

Re: Hydraulics 32 QBBS
One spring my batteries were dead (I didn't check the panel). I ended up taking one of the batteries out of the TV to get the jacks up. Pain in the butt but I was able to get it home. I would think you'd be able to attach a charger while still in the trailer.

Re: Hydraulics 32 QBBS
Thanks to all for the information...the battery. The hydraulic fluid level is normal.
