Camp Lakewood - 09/30/09

Camp Lakewood is located in Effingham, IL just off I-57/70, exit 160. It's far enough beyond the hustle and bustle of this major exit to be quite, but not so far as to add to the trip.

This is a nice CG. There are 72 sites, with most of them being pull-thrus. The CG is layed out among some pretty mature trees that give welcome shade. The restroom/bath houses are very clean, the store is well stocked and the staff is friendly. We were escorted to our site by the owner. The grounds are well maintained as are the sites themselves. There is a lake (fishing and boating) and a pool. Many amenties for the kids, so this is a family park. We would definitely stay here again.
