WaKeeney KOA - 09/28/09

Greetings from nowhere, KS. I mean WaKeeney, KS. WaKeeney is about 150 miles east of the CO/KS border and located on the open prarie land. The KOA is just off of the Interstate, but we were not bothered by the road noise.
The park is truly an overnight stopover, for there is nothing to do once the lights go out and the sidewalks are rolled up. All that aside, the park is well maintained by the owners and one WorkKamper couple. Not sure what next year will bring for them. The park is for sale ($495K) and I'm not sure that it will survive.
The sites were gravel, but were long and wide with standard hook-ups. Pool was still open and the bath house was clean.
