Refig stopped working

I have a Dometic refrig that was working yesterday. Was fine and just stopped. The only thing I did was turn the power off to the camper for a few minutes. was letting someone borrow my 50amp to 30 amp to see it they could get some power. But I plugged mine back to the 30 amp until i got the adapter back, then I plugged the camper back in to the 50 amp. Now my refrig doesn't work. What can I check? any fuses? etc...

Give us more information will the refrigerator work on gas which buttons are pushed in (on/off, gas) are any of neon lights (auto, check) lite. I had a problem with mine not working on electric due to not having clean 12 volt power from the converter but in my case the check lite would come on. Jim

wont work on gas or electric. I now have an amonia smell and someone said that is the refrigirant leaking. only thing to do is replace the refrig???

Be careful with the ammonia smell. Is it inside the trailer or outside near the fridge vents? Regardless, it could ignite, that's why Dometic had the recall, the coolant system would leak and then the gas flame would ignite it. Vent your trailer and contact a qualified repair tech ASAP.

well it was the cooling unit. I have the Good Sams extended warranty with a $200 deductible. Camper is at a resort and the repairman is coming out there to fix. No problem with the warranty or repair service. I am a happy camper!

This is the one time you will be happy with the extended warranty plan. I guess they will have to install a new frig. I was told that when you got the ammonia smell the frig would have to be replace. I don't have the extended warranty so if that happens I just have to pay.

I see Dometic has a RECALL out for some models. Might want to check that also. I saw it today at their web site. I think it is Dometic.com not sure but you can find it..
