Wildcat M-26PRBSPE travle trailer
Hello, I am a new Wildcat owner.... going for final review and payment tomorrow on a brand new 2007 unit in Washington State. I would really appreciate any feedback re the quality of the rig and Company. Although I amgetting aheck of a deal, I am still somewhat curious about why a 2007 new unit would still be around.... was it a bad year?

Re: Wildcat M-26PRBSPE travle trailer
Greetings, and
allenb!
Forest River is one of the LARGER RV manufacturers in the US. It is owned by none other than Warren Buffet.
They're a good company, but as it goes in any industry, they are as good as their weakest link. In Forest River's case, based on my opinion, their weakest link is quality control.
Make sure you spend a looooong time going through your PDI. Take a level with you as well as a tape measure. Make sure everything is level and square. Look for small defects in craftsmanship that you may not find acceptable. Look for anything NOT OBVIOUS.
I have a 2007, and I know that the Elkhart plant had an assembly line problem that wasn't found before several RVs got off the lot not setting square side-to-side on their frame. You can tell right away by looking at the back bumper and seeing if it sets the same distance on each side away from the box of the RV.
I'm not even familiar with the model you're about to purchase. I'm going to have to go back to my 2007 brochure to look at the floor plan. Is this a 5th wheel or a TT?
Anyway, if your RV passes the PDI, get ready for YEARS of RV enjoyment!! But if it doesn't, be aware of your rights and DON"T ACCEPT an RV until ALL problems are fixed CORRECTLY!!

The one I am looking at is a travel trailer..... not a 5th wheel. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and give me some pointers...... If the unit is NOT square on the frame....what is the negative result? What do you think the tolerance is between left and right side of bumper away from back of trailer?

As in woodworking, I wouldn't accept ANY tolerance. Anything off about the RV's frame will put stress on everything else from cabinets to flooring to the frame itself.
If the frame is NOT square, it will mostly likely have to go back to Forest River. However, I don't think you'll have to worry about that one since you're buying a TT. To the best of my knowledge, that particular problem was just on certain 5th wheels. Inspect it anyway. An ounce of prevention...

Hi Allen B
to this great forum. We have a 2007 'Cat, and have had few problems with it. Enjoy! We'll be looking for you on the highways and in the campgrounds. Where are you located?

Welcome! We are glad you are here. I may be wrong, but I think you are the first one here with a Wildcat TT. Looking forward to your impressions.
FWIW...We have not had any big problems with ours. Even the Concertone works as it's supposed to. (knock on wood)

Re: Wildcat M-26PRBSPE travle trailer
Allenb......hello and welcome. I am a first time FR owner. I purchase a 2008 27 WC in April and I have had no problems what so ever!! I actually spent the first night in my WC at the dealership because they had to put the hitch in my truck the next morning. I was able to really go over everything and all I found was a screw missing from the exhaust fan screen in the bathroom....which I don't consider a problem. I not a really big fan of the electric awning, but it is not due to any manufacturer problems....it's just to small and I like the manual awnings better.
Enjoy your new camper.
