Moab Valley RV Resort - 09/20 to 09/23/09

Of the 5 or 6 CGs in the Moab area we picked this one based on both TL rating and internet reviews. It is a nice CG, and even though it's located on the north edge of town it is centrally located to the National Parks. Arches is just up UT-191 on the right hand side and the turnoff to Canyonlands (UT-313) is about 5 miles north on the left hand side. Canyonlands NP is located about 16 miles south of UT-191 on UT 313.

Most of the western CGs we have stayed in on this trip have side-by-side hook-ups. Moab Valley is no different. I'm OK with that and the DW thinks they're great. It is nice to be looking at your neighbor's awning side instead of his sewer hook-up. The staff was courteous and friendly and check-in went without issue. Laundry room and bath houses were very clean. The CG is well maintained with the recepticles in the power pedastal nice and tight and the breakers not worn.

Only negative for the CG is that there is some really heavy construction going on right in front of it, creating alot of dust. The state is replacing the bridge over the Colorado River and Moab Valley is the first thing after the bridge. This will be going on for another year and it must be driving the owner nuts.

Had a good stay here and would come back if we're ever in the area again.

Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden, CO is next as we turn east and head home.

Thanks for the review Mike! I was out there for 5 days last spring ATV'in with a bunch of Coloradans and had a blast. We did the motel thing, but for the price they get for them, I'll pull a camper out next time. Good to have a recommendation before I do.

Golden has an RV park owned by the city; it's nice.
