Recliner Advice
I went to the Hersey RV show this past weekend, and now have decided I NEED a new recliner for the Cat. I sat in about 50 and realize that some are comfortable and some are NOT WORTH THE MONEY, therefore I don’t want to purchase one without sitting in it. My problem is, I don’t know where to shop for one that will fit in the camper. Any suggestions or recommendations. (I’ve already went to the local Camping World and they only had one in the store and I didn’t like it.)

Re: Recliner Advice
you might go to your local furnature stores and look at thier small recliners to see if you like them . I found out that the stores have chairs about the size of the ones in campers . Hope this helps . Happy camping

Re: Recliner Advice
Be sure to take measurements; depth and width, of the area the recliner's going in. They come in sizes from anemic to extremely plush. Take the measurements with you when you go shopping.
Have a budget in mind before starting the shopping process; they can go upwards up $750.00 for the ones with the small cooler, phone, and vibrater/heater combo built in. And even higher if you go with real leather.
Also, you might inquire whether or not the recliner comes apart to make it easier to get through the door of your Cat. Not all models do.
Lazy Boy is an excellent brand. We've also used Lane, and have found them both to be durable as well as comfortable. You pay more for the Lazy Boy name. I understand that certain cities actually have Lazy Boy stores now. You might check to see what you have in your area.
We have a HUGE furniture store here in Omaha, Nebraska Furniture Mart. It's touted to be the LARGEST furniture store in the country. I hate going shopping for recliners in there, because they have a couple hundred brands, styles, sizes to choose from!
Last thing I highly recommend, and this one's realy important...don't just get in and out of each recliner, but actually sit in each one a few minutes. The more time you spend testing out each recliner, the more you'll get to know whether it will be comfortable after you've been in it a couple hours watching TV. When it comes to a recliner, take your time shopping !
Oh yeah, don't forget to keep in mind that the recliner you're trying out has also been tried out by hundreds or thousands before you. It will feel different than the same one brand new. They have to be broke in, just like shoes.

Re: Recliner Advice
I agree with TC and treat it like you would your own. Sit in it like you do at home. Slouch, put your leg over the side, whatever you do. And also take your shoes off like you probably would at home. Also, make sure the back is removable, it will really take the guesswork out of getting it in the door.

Re: Recliner Advice
We haven't started using our "new used" one yet, it has two recliners
in it and our Wildcat has none. One thing I think would be
important is to get one of the ones which don't require any space
behind to recline, don't know the name for that. Space is at a
premium and having a foot or two behind you will shrink the floor fast.

Wall hugger is the term I think you may be looking for Cardinal Bill. Thats what they called the model of our reclining loveseat we bought for our 'Cat. Its a Catnapper brand. Well made .Its only a couple inches off the wall at the most. The recliners seem to be just as good. All made in the USA too. Still comfortable after several naps, rainy day retreats etc.. If I can get in it before the DW or wee one does.

All new Wildcats now have the option for one or a pair of remote-controlled, heated massage La-Z-Boy® recliner(s). They were introduced at the National RV Show in Louisville at the beginning of this month and were very well received.

Re: Recliner Advice
A good quality reclining chair of various sizes is make by a firm called Ekornes. they make the stressless range of chairs and sofas.
You might even find some used ones on Ebay, don't be put off by this as these chairs can cost over £1000.00 ($1500.00) and come when new with a very good warranty.

Re: Recliner Advice
LaZBoy makes small recliners. I believe all LaZBoys come apart. The back lifts off of the seat, so getting one inside a trailer should be easy. If you find one you like, but it isn't the right color, they will happily order it for you. They have many fabric samples in their showroom that you can see and feel.

Can you get a model number off the chair?

This is the chair style we are using (with Brown woven fabric covering), but I'm unsure if the part numbering is the same:
