Another New Member

Post by dragynj on Fri Sep 11, 2009 2:16 am

Hello from North Dakota!

Stumbled on this site looking for some other Wildcat info, what a suprise! It's nice to find a group of people passionate about the same thing!!! Lots of great topics and ideas here to browse through. Can't wait to become part of the group.
We purchased our new (to us) 2006 32QBBS this summer on the spur of the moment. We've been rv'n for a while and upgraded from an older Dutchmen, what a difference!!! We first saw the camper 3 years ago @ our local dealer and fell in love, figured we'd wait a couple years for the depreciation to get the rig into our budget!!! Wink

Only question I couldn't answer by browsing the topics was this. Does Forest River make any miniature RV toys? Bobcat, John Deere, CAT, . . . all these companies usually do, but I can't find if they do or not. I want to miniaturize my set up, but don't know where to start!!!

Thanks again for all the info!!

Welcome to the group! We are glad you are here.

Forest River does sell apparel with their logos on them but I don't recall and diecast stuff.

to the forum.

Dont know about the miniature RV toys, but you could try calling our contact in FR, Rod Batts, it would be a start.

He's the warranty guy, but he might know who to send you too. Let us know what you find out.

Oh, and please update your signature with your camper model & tow vehicle, and anything else you'd like.

Welcome!

I don't think they have any mini toys. When I bought my little 27HP tractor about 6 years ago, the dealer threw in a small pedal tractor for my son. My kids would love to have a truck and trailer combo. Right now, they just make them out of Legos. It's amazing what they come up with. Of course, I have to help.

A hearty welcome from Nebraska!!

I know FR sells a few items on their website with their Logo on, but I don't remember seeing cast models.

Good luck in your quest, and welcome to the Wildcat Forum family!!

Welcome to the forum. When you get cold come on down to Florida for some sunshine and get warm. My father was born in Fargo. He told me about the cold winters.

Thank you for all the kind words!

Rhino, you aren't joking. Winter is already knocking on the door up here. After last years winter no one up here is ready for that again!!! :( Actually been thinking about driving the fam to Disney, cross country old school style. Not sure if I'm man enough for that yet. hahaha

The cold brings up an interesting point. I read someone talking about Tank HEaters. Is that an aftermarket option someone can add on? I will need them 4sure as I am an avid hunter and will be using the Cat well into November this year. I know this isn't the place to ask, I'll do my research, but whatever anyone can offer would be great!

Thanks!

I went hunting in Oregon a couple years ago. It was in the teens overnight with highs in the low 30s. I was dry camping for about 5 days and the tanks didn't freeze. The heater will not work well at all to maintain a nice 68° room temp. It drains the batteries running the fan and uses a lot of fuel without much heat to show for it. I used my generator to recharge the batteries since the solar system wasn't very effective with overcast skies and the shortened days. The heater is supposed to move some into the basement.

You need to keep a couple vents open on the top to keep the humidity down.

Some people use the catalytic heaters, but there is a safety concern with them (uses O2 and generates CO2). Some have a low O2 sensor and shutoff. The best thing to do is not use them when you sleep. They do work well though.
